How to Create More Engaging Social Content: Step Two, Understand the Buying Cycle

April 5, 2013 in Social Media

In the first post of this series, we discussed the importance of better understanding your customer and using buyer personas as a tool in that pursuit. Once you have that insight into who your customers are, it’s time to consider where they are in their purchasing decision-making process. Social media expert Chris Brogan published a fantastic and simple to use resource on this recently. Fishing Where the Fish Are is a short report to help marketers map social media to the buying cycle. Before making any purchase, customers are on a journey through their discovery of […]

Building Out A VMware Home Lab

February 25, 2013 in Networking, Storage, Tech, Virtualization

Sounds exciting right!  Well a while back I wrote how I was going to build out a view environment in the Dell TechCenter lab.  Due to some circumstances out of my control that idea passed and I have not been able to covert the dream into reality.  Hence I have turned my attention to building out a “Mobile Lab” that will allow me to learn more about the products/technology themselves and also be able to take it to any events that I may attend. I will be posting some updates […]

Which (Free) Cloud Storage To Choose

December 20, 2012 in Non-Tech, Storage, Tech

There are many free cloud storage options out there to choose from, but which ones are the best?  Do you go by who gives you the most free storage, the one recommended by a co-worker, by a friend, or by the latest pop-up you saw?  Maybe you go the more responsible route and choose based upon reliability, security, ease of use, cost and their support.  Any way you decide there are a few names that keep popping up.  Microsoft SkyDrive, SugarSync, Mozy, Dropbox, Box, Google Drive. There’s a good article […]

My Time With The SonyX Headphones

December 18, 2012 in Non-Tech

There are a lot of differing options about Klout, but the one thing they excel at is getting brands to participate in their perks program.  This is a great way  to get people talking about or even promoting your brand (plus people get free stuff). I was lucky enough to snag one of the Simon Cowell SonyX headphone perks a few moths ago.  Granted these headphones are something I would have never thought about purchasing, mainly because I was not a fan of the huge headphones that looked like they […]

Hands On With The PS-M4110

June 12, 2012 in Events, Storage

So the PS-M4110 was announced Tuesday at the Dell Storage Forum keynote and since then there have been a few questions. A better part of those questions have been asked around management. So we pulled David Stevens, Dell EqualLogic engineer for a bit to talk about it. There’s a link to the blog post at the end. First let’s talk a little about what the array is. The PS-M4110 is a double-wide, half-height blade form factor that will support up to 14 x 2.5” drives. The blade features up to […]
