Hands On With The PS-M4110
June 12, 2012 in Events, Storage
So the PS-M4110 was announced Tuesday at the Dell Storage Forum keynote and since then there have been a few questions. A better part of those questions have been asked around management. So we pulled David Stevens, Dell EqualLogic engineer for a bit to talk about it. There’s a link to the blog post at the end.
First let’s talk a little about what the array is. The PS-M4110 is a double-wide, half-height blade form factor that will support up to 14 x 2.5” drives. The blade features up to two 10GbE controllers with 2GB of usable memory per controller. It also features a dedicated 1 x 100Mb management port available through the CMC. Both the drives and the controller are hot pluggable. The PS-M4110 will be available in 4 different configurations:
- PS-M4110E – 14x 2.5” 7.2K NL SAS 500GB or 1TB drives
- PS-M4110X – 14x 2.5” 10K SAS 600GB or 900GB drives
- PS-M4110XV – 14x 2.5” 15K SAS 146GB or 300 GB drives
- PS-M4110XS – 9x 2.5”, 10K SAS 600GB drives and 5x 2.5” SSD 400GB drives
