HI, my name is Dennis Smith and I’m just another guy in the IT industry with a blog to share his opinions. More importantly I am married to an amazing woman and have the two greatest kids in the world! Without their support I would not have been able to accomplish all that I have. I have been in the tech industry for over 15 years. During those years I have done everything from system admin, repair technician, consulting, design architect and most recently I was a content creator from the networking and storage area’s of DellTechCenter. This includes creating best practices around Dell solutions, how to videos, and of course Social Media. I was also the Principal Engagement Manager at EMC. In this role I help manage EMC’s influencer and advocacy program “EMC Elect“. I also spent some time managing the Brocade Communities. In this role I was responsible for the platform, content, and engagement strategies.
Currently I am the Global Community manager for Snow Software. In this role I am planning and launching a user community for Software Asset Management users as well as managing content/community strategy.
Over the years I have found numerous things that have frustrated me when trying to do something at work or in my home lab, so I figured why not start a blog and try to help at least one person through those struggles. While I try to regularly update this blog with content it’s just not possible to give it as much attention as I would like (but I am working on that).
If you follow me on any of the channels listed you will find that I talk about anything from technology to (mostly) sports. I am pretty much a fan of anything that you can do outdoors and love to offroad (as you can tell from the blog banner).
If you like what I have to say, you may want to follow me on these as well 🙂
